Student with highest JAMB score Agnes Maduafokwa, others receive N16 million from NSE



 -Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwa Agnes and some other students who scored high in the last UTME have been rewarded for their academic excellence by the NSE

- Agnes and fifteen others were awarded a scholarship worth N16 million

- All beneficiaries are to receive the sum of N200k per year for the next five years


Sixteen Nigerian students have been rewarded for their outstanding performance in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation (UTME) exercise by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

The best of the sixteen led by Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwa Agnes, Nwobi Okwuchuwu David, Ojuba Mezisasha Shalom, who scored 365, 363 and 359 respectively, have been awarded a scholarship worth N16 million alongside 13 other students with brilliant performances, The Guardian reports.

All sixteen students expressed their interest to study mechanical, electrical, computer, industrial production as well as civil engineering in different Nigerian universities.


The report noted that all the beneficiaries of the scholarship are to receive the sum of N200k per year for the next five years.

Each student also got a brand new laptop with the best student Agnes getting an extra laptop and tablet which was donated by the president of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, Funmilola Ojelade.

Agnes who led the pack for the 2020 UTME exercise is the president of the mathematics club and 1st assistant head girl of Louisvilles Girls High School, Ijebu-Itele in Ogun state. She disclosed her intention to study engineering where she can apply mathematical concepts in solving societal challenges. She wrote her UTME on March 14, 2020, in St Michael Otedola Education Centre in Epe, Lagos State. The young lady scored 72 in Use of English, 99 in Mathematics, 99 in Physics and 95 in Chemistry.
