Air Peace has temporarily halted one of its regular flights from Lagos to London Gatwick due to a technical issue detected during a routine inspection just before takeoff.
The airline revealed that the problem was identified after passengers had already boarded the aircraft, leading to the plane being grounded in adherence to safety procedures.
After the completion of boarding, a standard post-boarding technical check revealed a minor fault, prompting immediate attention, the airline stated in an official announcement.
Passengers were safely deplaned while engineers worked on the aircraft. The airline emphasized that passenger safety was its top priority, despite the inconvenience caused by the flight suspension.
Air Peace underlined its commitment to prioritizing safety and passenger well-being over operational timetables, describing the decision to suspend the flight as responsible and necessary.
Affected passengers were promptly notified and provided with accommodations and assistance until the rescheduled flight. A replacement aircraft was arranged to operate the delayed service from London to minimize further disruptions.
The airline expressed gratitude to passengers for their understanding and patience during the delay, reaffirming its dedication to maintaining safe and dependable flight services and recognizing the importance of customer trust.
