Nigerian Forces in Guinea-Bissau were visited by President Tinubu

On Saturday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid a visit to the Nigerian contingent that is part of the ECOWAS Stabilization Force stationed in the nation.

Remember that the President traveled to Bissau, the capital of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, for the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Politics Nigeria had already reported on this.

The President met with Nigerian soldiers upon his arrival and thanked them for their commitment to serving Nigeria and their host nation, as well as their commander, General Al-Hassan Grema.

Nigeria, he continued, would keep promoting democracy throughout the world and in West Africa.

His remarks:

“I am here to show solidarity with you. I want to assure you we are committed to support peace and democracy not only in West Africa but around the world.

“Nigeria is a giant that has made its mark in Sierra Leone and Liberia and other places. We count on your support for the defence of constitutional order. I heard your allowances have been paid up to date. Nothing else should make you angry. We will continue to build a virile force.

“We are proud of you. Proud of your loyalty. Nigeria depends on you. There will be peace and progress in our country,”

Brigadier General Grema thanked President Tinubu on behalf of the military for becoming the first Commander-in-Chief in Nigerian history to visit his troops abroad.

The Nigerian president will visit Guinea-Bissau for a summit side event, as well as bilateral discussions and other activities.
