According to a copy of the state budget performance report, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke spent more than N6 billion running the "Office of the Governor" in just three months.

The figure is different from the N209 million paid on personal expenses in the governor's office, according to official documents.

All of these were included in the Osun State budget performance report for the third quarter of 2023, which was available on the state website along with the income and expense statements for the July–September 2023 period.

The third quarter (2023) budget performance report (July–September) is included in this document. According to the report available on the state website, it is created on a quarterly basis and published within four weeks, or 28 days, following the conclusion of each quarter.

When preparing the budget for Fiscal Year 2023, the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development created a thorough Revenue and Expenditure Framework. As approved by the Osun State House of Assembly, the FY 2023 budget will be implemented starting on January 1st, 2023, and ending on December 31st, 2023.

The State House of Assembly passed the revised budget on August 15, 2023, and Governor His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, endorsed it. A new budget is required to enable the State Government to undertake initiatives that will boost the State's economy.

Before posting online, the Budget Implementation Committee evaluates the budget performance on a quarterly basis. Nonetheless, consistent work is needed on the part of the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development to guarantee enhancements in the State's Public Financial and Resource Management operations.

The Approved Budget Appropriation (2023 Original Budget), the 2023 Revised Budget, the Actual Spending for the Third Quarter (Q3), the Cumulative Spending for the Year to Date, and the Balances against each of the Revenue and Expense Appropriations are all included in this report. The revised budget is broken down by organisational unit and covers each of the core economic classification of expenditures (Persons, Overheads, Capital, and Others).

In relation to the 2023 updated forecasts, the budget performance for the third quarter (Q3) shows the actual inflow and outflow of resources in the state as of the end of the third quarter of 2023.

The study claims that in just three months, Adeleke's office alone spent an incredible N6,011,614,620.35. During the same time frame, the state House of Assembly also spent more than N800 million.

The Osun government added that it has given its officials welfare benefits and paid more than N2 billion for meals and refreshments.

According to the breakdown, N456,401,074.13 was used for meals and refreshments, and N1,759,466,120.21 was spent on assistance packages.

The government also stated in the paper that an additional N400 million was spent on public relations and advertising.
